Hello my sweets! I've been busy all day writing up this tutorial on how to make your own stencils.  These stencils are super easy to make and totally give your wardrobe that one of a kind edge.  You can stencil on your old shirts to give them new life, or stencil onto your mini skirt to make it one of a kind.  Check out the details below:

Hey guys,

Where has everyone gone? I miss reading about everyone's refashions and seeing all your awesome skills!

Recently I refashioned a pair of shorts and made them into a mini skirt and I also made a phone pouch.

You can find the posts about them (and tuts) on my blog; here and here!

Ahoy me hearties!  Long time no post I know.  I've finally gotten my sewing and reconstructing ju-ju back so I've been on a roll.  I bought this super cute ribcage shirt two Halloweens ago.  It started out as a boy's 2xl.  It fit well, but was still a bit too boxy for me.  Here's the before photo:

Why yes, that is more of that eyeball fabric around the edges of this bathrobe! How far can we stretch it?

I used a hoodie of Little Monster's and used it as a pattern to make this neato dressing gown for him. It's super soft and super warm and I'm more than a little jealous that it won't fit me!

This is his new 'pose' by the way. You shout out POSE to him and he used to do this cheesy grin with a wrinkled up nose, now it's this. LOL

You can find the TUTORIAL for it right here! yey!

I was going to post all these things I made up in a single post, but I guess this is more fun. This is by far my favourite of all the dresses I've made, and I have plans to make a whole range of leopard print dresses similar to this.

As usual, you can read more about it on my blog girlmaverick

I can't get enough of leopard print. And this fleece is on sale at Spotlight for $8 per metre. Sweet!
I made the pattern from a hoodie I have, and away I went. Came out alright!

Visit girlmaverick.blogspot.com for deets.

I think it's a shame that the posts have slowed up here, keep 'em coming I say!

Ahoy me hearties! Long time no post, I know! I've been uber busy at the salon and I've been stitching up some stuff for my Etsy shop and teaching sewing lessons. Whew! Can you say full plate? Anywhoo, yesterday I decided that it was time for me to do a little sewing for myself. I needed a new purse desperately. I've been carrying the same one for almost two years! At least I know my stuff holds up right? Check out my new ruffle purse:

I made this punk rock vest for the Monster out of the bottoms of a pair of Tim's old baggy jeans. I just need to add snaps.

Hello everyone!  I was recently asked (by [info]racerxmachina) how to hem odd shapes, so I decided that I'd write a tutorial on how to do it.  This tutorial is super simple and you can use this technique on tons of different sewing endeavors.

On with the show... )

Hello everyone!  I was holed up in my craft room all last weekend making some lovely things for charity.  Lela, the crafty lady behind Glittersniffer Cosmetics is putting together a charity basket of epic proportions and I just had to help.  There are three charities that she's raising money for, so ideally, I think she'd like to make three charity baskets.  I decided to make three of everything I made so that she'd have enough to put in each basket.  Check out the cute stuff I made:

Hey everyone,

I'm San. I'm 21 and from New Zealand. I'm a student at uni and I'm really new to the blogging world. I've been a lurker for ages but just created a blog (today actually, haha) so that I have somewhere to post about the stuff I make. You can find it here if you wanna check it out.

Here are a couple of skirts I made.
